Tarot cards, rewards and psychic readings have all become part of the daily updates on the case of missing Joslin Smith (7).

There seems to still be no trace of Joslin, who has been missing since last week. While it seems some are using social media to share conspiracy theories on Joslin’s disappearance, the Grade 1 learner’s case has also lead to an outpouring of care and support.

Poet Bernard Fielies shared this poem for Joslin on social media. In the past Fielies has also been inspired to write on other current affairs, such as the road accident in Mitchells Plain in May 2023.

Joslin Smith, kom huis toe

Bernard Fielies

liefste Joslin Smith, mooie groenoog-kind,

waar sal jy jou op hierdie oomblik bevind?

ons kruip voor U HERE, in smart se sweem

Joslin Smith liewe kind, kom huistoe nou,

HERE, na soveel dae sal ons aanhou roep

ons sal aanhou klop oral waar ons gaan

en as U oopmaak, sal Joslin daar staan . . .
