There have been five confirmed cases of cholera in South Africa, including one death.
Health Minister Joe Phaahla announced last week that a 24-year-old male, residing in Emandleni Wattville, Benoni, died a few days after he presented with profuse watery diarrhoea.
Cholera is a "diarrhoeal disease caused by a bacterium called Vibrio cholerae", according to the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD).
