About 9 km outside Greyton, in the direction of Riviersonderend, is a spot where you can camp with your family in the middle of nature, says Nico Heunis of Durbanville, Cape Town.

My wife Marelize and I decided take our two sons, Jesse and Jamie, and our dog, Juno camping. We searched online for pet-friendly campsites and came across Kleine Eike just outside Greyton. This excellent campsite was a pleasant surprise.

The whole campsite is laid out along the Sonderend River and it’s fantastic because everyone camps next to the water. There are 14 stands of varying sizes, each with a power point, tap, picnic bench and braai area.  About 120 people can fit in here and the campsite is laid out in such a way that nobody pitches camp in front of anyone else.
