More and more new campsites are opening in and around the Dinokeng Reserve, with the Stilte Game Farm and Bush Camp some of the newer additions. Stilte is just past the reserve, on the Rust de Winter Road.
The owners, Pieter and Gerida Booyens, worked in bush camps all over Africa for 16 years, and they used their experience to inspire the creation of their own spot – at Stilte’s bush camp no provision is made for electricity or water at your stand. The farm is 70 ha in size and there are several game species, including warthogs, jackals, steenbok, duikers, impalas, blesbok, and zebras.
The campsite itself is not fenced, but there aren’t any predators to worry about. Don’t be surprised when Fiona or Surprise (a donkey and her daughter), or Bella and Bessie, two tame ostriches, drop by.
