The idea of being jailed left Johannesburg City manager Floyd Brink "dumbstruck" and his bid to have a warrant for his arrest stayed caused him "great stress", he said in court papers filed in the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg.
In an affidavit, he said he had launched the stay application in "great haste" and had no opportunity to think things through because sheriffs wanted to take him to jail for an infraction he believed he did not commit.
