The Eikenhof pump station tripped due to a suspected lightning strike at the Orlando substation in Soweto on Monday evening.

This is the second time this month Eikenhof has experienced a trip due to a lightning strike.

This is also the fourth power outage in three weeks, with the lightning strike on 3 March, causing the first outage.
