How many innocent people must be mowed down before we consider much harsher gun control legislation in South Africa? asks Adriaan Basson.
In the whole of 2021, 10 people were killed with guns in Japan. This fact stuck with me after reading about the outrage in the Asian country with a population of 125 million, following the assassination of former prime minister Shinzo Abe last week.
Abe was shot at a political rally by an assassin with a homemade firearm. Japan has been outraged by this freakish incident and its already very strict gun control laws will probably be further tightened as a result.
