It has taken the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) 13 years to find Western Cape Judge President John Hlophe guilty of gross misconduct.
Once tipped as a future chief justice and legal rising star, Hlophe's legal career lies in tatters after a Judicial Conduct Tribunal (JSC) found he violated his oath of office and acted unconstitutionally by trying to persuade two Constitutional Court judges to rule in favour of former President Jacob Zuma.
