While Rise Mzansi is looking in the right direction in its election manifesto, such as considering corruption, they clearly have a blind spot on the underlying systemic causes of the current pervasive socioeconomic crisis in South Africa, writes Ebrahim Harvey. 

Last week, Rise Mzansi launched its 2024 election manifesto, The People's Manifesto, amid much fanfare. But what the manifesto primarily consists of in fact serves to reinforce the column I penned after it held the Peoples Declaration in October 2023 at Constitution Hill.
