You know that election campaigns are in full swing when politicians tell blatant lies such as the one by Cyril Ramaphosa, the president of the ANC, in Mpumalanga.
Without batting an eyelid, he is purported to have told supporters during one of the January 8 celebrations' mobilisation events that "if the ANC fails to attain the majority vote, the National Student Financial Aid Scheme [NSFAS] and social grants may be scrapped… Our policies have been pro-poor".
