Mpumelelo Mkhabela outlines two reasons why there is negativity against Cuba, for which he says the ANC must take the blame.

Each time an ANC leader is exposed for corrupt dealings, which happens frequently, critics of the governing party would ask: "Who else in the ANC is not corrupt?" 

This question reflects the extent to which corruption has almost become a synonym of the ANC.
