2024 is expected to be a busy election year, not only for South Africa but for 40 countries aound the world.
Next year boasts a packed election calendar ranging from one of the world's oldest democracy (the US) to the largest democracy (India). Even the youngest democracies (Tunisia and South Sudan) are set to vote. Some commentators have labelled 2024 as "democracy’s Superbowl" as some 40% of the world's population are due to elect new leaders.
