As more allegations of improper and questionable relationships are revealed about Deputy President Paul Mashatile, Sipho Masondo writes that Mashatile has failed the due diligence test needed to be presidential material.  

If the history of succession in the ANC is anything to go by, delegates at the organisation's 56^th National Conference, due in December 2027, will elect Deputy President Paul Mashatile as the party's leader, and he will stand in line to become head of state after the 2029 general election.
