The people of South Africa have been robbed of economic opportunities and jobs by the basic failures of the ANC to understand Eskom, and it's an even bigger failure to realise that its policies and the loyal, deployed cadres inflicted irreparable damage on the utility, writes Kyle Cowan.
The ANC, which has ruled since the dawn of South Africa's democracy, does not understand Eskom.
It is not a basic misunderstanding of what it takes to run a behemoth such as the power utility, or a mistake that can be attributed to a lack of expertise in a democratic political arena as young as ours – it cannot be brushed off as the first faltering steps of a new dispensation finding its feet.
