Have you been toying with the idea of switching from Windows to Mac? It's never been easier, and you'll save thousands by trading in your Windows laptop for a new MacBook.

In South Africa, users of Windows laptops can sweeten the switch to MacBook by getting a trade-in deal at iStore, saving up to R10 000 on a new Macbook Air or Macbook Pro.

At home or the office, alone or in teams, we need machines that are as agile as we are - to help us get the job done. And that, more than ever, means Mac.

According to a report by the US technology research company, Canalys, global shipments of Mac grew almost twice as fast as the entire PC market over the last year.

That phenomenal growth can be traced to the 2020 launch of a new range of MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, supercharged by the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips that have left traditional Windows laptops lagging.

And there's no reason for you to be left behind.

More reasons to make the switch:

  • The M1 Silicon processor, which combines the CPU, GPU, Neural engine, and audio and image processing hardware on a single chip, has ushered in a new era of speed, power, and flexibility for Apple's lineup of portables.
  • With its breakthrough SoC, or System on a Chip engineering, the M1 can perform more tasks significantly more quickly, making it faster than 98 per cent of PC laptops. But that raw power is just the start.
  • The MacBook Air M1 is completely silent in operation, thanks to its fanless design, and its all-day battery life allows for up to 18 hours of video playback, and up to 15 hours of wireless web browsing.

For users of legacy Windows laptops, it's easy to see the attraction, especially when you factor in cross-platform compatibility.

The new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro range is fully capable of running Microsoft Office and other everyday productivity applications, including the Windows operating system itself.

And what about value?

That's a built-in Apple proposition too, with the upfront costs of an M1 MacBook Air or MacBook Pro paying off in long-term use and reliability, as shown by a recent survey of more than 58,000 subscribers of the US-based Consumer Reports website.
