South Africa’s only customer-centric three-day sale (24 - 26 July) - The Ultimate Checkout - is back for the fifth year running, with takealot.com, Superbalist.com and Mr D once again offering shoppers epic deals on their most wished-for, highest-rated, most searched, and for the first time, top trending products.

The Ultimate Checkout is unique in that the deals offered are based on an analysis of aggregated behaviour and trends from their respective platforms of over 10 million customers across Takealot (online retail store), Superbalist (fashion and home) and Mr D (online food delivery). Shoppers can expect deep discounts on thousands of products across the hottest brands.

“The Ultimate Checkout reflects our commitment to offering a customer-centric experience. This year it’s bigger than ever, with deals focussed around the combined data of over 100 million searches, reviews and wish lists,” says Julie-Anne Walsh, Chief Marketing Officer at Takealot.

Early Access deals will be released on Sunday, 23rd July on Takealot & Superbalist to kick off the excitement of the sale. These deals will be a sneak peek into what is on offer during the sale and only limited stock will be available.

Plus, this year’s sale will boast another South African first: Takealot’s popular live-stream event will be simultaneously broadcasted in real-time across Takealot, Superbalist and Mr D’s instagram channels, marking the country’s biggest live stream event ever. Savvy shoppers can once again expect unique and exclusive coupons, unmissable entertainment and more than a few epic surprises. Be sure to follow Takealot, Superbalist and Mr D on Instagram for the latest updates, including special offers and the live stream schedule.

“The Ultimate Checkout was a first-of-its-kind event when launched five years ago, and we're immensely excited to further develop this concept by continuing to pioneer live shopping in South Africa,” says Walsh.

The Takealot Group offers value and convenience across all three brands, and this year is no different. Shoppers won’t have to wait long to receive their orders thanks to the FREE next-day delivery and collect on orders placed on Takealot and Superbalist during The Ultimate Checkout Sale.

Additionally, here are some of the habits of South African online customers:
