The button down is an essential of any capsule wardrobe. Whether you prefer crisp white or a blue and white stripe, it’s an effortless way to look polished and put together. 1. Let your shirt be the hero of the outfit. With the addition of ruffles, an asymmetrical hem or off-shoulder detail you don’t want to look like you’ve got too much going on.
2. Team your shirt with jeans – mid-rise with a cropped, frayed hem – or a pencil skirt (especially leather or leather look skirts). It’s a great play on classic corporate wear.
