"Regressive input into South Africa's new employment equity legislation will not be considered. Only constructive amendments that ensure justice will find a space in our laws."
This is according to Employment and Labour Minister Thulas Nxesi, who has defended the government's Employment Equity Act (EEA).
On Wednesday, Nxesi briefed the Portfolio Committee on Employment and Labour following a petition by the Cape Forum and AfriForum, who took issue with the "draft Employment Equity Regulations on proposed Sector Numerical Employment Equity targets."
