The ANC is continuing its court battle to keep its leader's role in cadre deployment during the state capture era secret, despite getting a drubbing in court at every turn.
On 3 April, the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg found the ANC, its secretary-general, Fikile Mbalula, and party official Thapelo Masilela in contempt of court.
DA MP Leon Schreiber approached the court with an application to this effect after the cadre deployment records the ANC finally handed to him following a lengthy court battle were heavily redacted and did not include the records for the period President Cyril Ramaphosa was the deployment committee's chairperson.
