After the May general elections, a former mayor accused of running a pay-for-jobs scheme in one of the Western Cape's best-run municipalities will fill a parliamentary seat for the DA.
Recently ousted Conrad Poole has made the cut to claim number 30 on the DA's candidates' list.
Given his high ranking, he is certain to claim a seat in the party's caucus after the elections.
