Addressing voters in KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday - the province where the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party enjoys a large support base, ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa said the Jacob Zuma-backed party would have no real impact.
Instead, he told them the ANC had "an overarching presence" in the province and added: "All other parties, political parties that are emerging yesterday and so on are trying to nibble at the edges, and all they will ever do is to nibble at the edges. The ANC has great hegemony here, and we will emerge victorious because the people of KZN and indeed, the people of South Africa, love the ANC."
Ramaphosa criss-crossed the province for the past two days, addressing voters as he tried to woo them towards the ANC.
