Police have made a swift breakthrough in the shooting of East London attorney and former acting judge Camagu Maseti, arresting five suspects in the suspected hit.

Eastern Cape police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu confirmed in a statement on Sunday that the silver Mercedes Benz getaway vehicle used in the shooting was recovered in the suburb of Amalinda within an hour of the shooting on Friday morning.

Shortly afterwards, a 42-year-old male was arrested at a complex on the beachfront when a second vehicle, a Renault Clio was spotted there.
