A Cape Town landlord who is accommodating TVET College students who are in limbo due to an apparent glitch with the NSFAS student residence portal claimed the scheme is delaying the launch of its accommodation portal, causing a massive backlog for online registrations.
The businessman, who spoke to News24 on condition of anonymity, said NSFAS launched the portal through which private accommodation providers could register their properties as student residences for accreditation.
However, the businessman claims the portal is not yet live, despite having paid for a listing last year.
