The City of Cape Town says it is working to restore power supply in parts of the city that have experienced prolonged outages.
Some areas such as parts of Hout Bay and the Cape Town city bowl, Tamboerskloof and surrounds have experienced prolonged outages due to damage caused by load shedding.
According to the City's Mayoral Committee Member: Energy, Beverley van Reenen, the continued load shedding at higher stages impacts work and restoration times due to the frequency and length of load shedding.
"Electricity infrastructure takes strain from this level of load shedding and outages are directly a result of load shedding," said Van Reenen.
She added that the City's energy infrastructure was well maintained and managed but under pressure due to the constant high degree of load shedding.
