A car dealership in Pretoria that was forced to cease operations due to Covid-19 restrictions in 2020 has been ordered to pay about R292 437 in rental arrears.
The Gauteng High Court in Pretoria has set aside a ruling by the lower court, which ordered the dealership to pay only 50% of the reduced rental.
Hennops Sports had leased its property to Luhan motors since 2017. It reduced the rent after the dealership's "obligations was temporarily made impossible" by the restrictions.
