More than 1 000 road users were arrested and 900 cars impounded across the country over the Easter weekend.
The long weekend saw numerous deadly road accidents.
Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) spokesperson Simon Zwane said the arrests related to various offences, such as drunk driving, producing false driving documentation, driving recklessly, driving without licences, and overloading of goods and passengers.
