The family of a Mpumalanga man allegedly killed by a soldier while police reportedly watched on, is suing the SA National Defence Force (SANDF) for R20 million in damages.
In a letter seen by News24, dated 11 August, Mabuza attorneys wrote to Defence Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula and Secretary for Defence Sam Gulube, instructing the department to compensate Eunicent Dilebo's family within 14 days or risk having to go to court.
The family was suing the department for loss of support, emotional shock and general pain and suffering, as well as constitutional violations.
