When the landmark Fezile Dabi Stadium was unveiled in the township of Tumahole in Parys more than 10 years ago, its sole purpose was to restore hope in the community and rid the youth of drug and alcohol abuse.
But, over the years, the stadium was vandalised, described as a white elephant, and became a crime hotspot and drug den.
Former Free State premier Ace Magashule officially opened phase one of the stadium in 2013.
