Former police officer Thulasizwe Dladla from Pietermaritzburg was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his wife after a love triangle turned deadly.
In handing down the sentence on Friday, the KwaZulu-Natal High Court in Pietermaritzburg detailed that on 20 July 2021, Dladla, 52, and his wife, 48, were at their home when he confronted her with information on an alleged affair she was having.
Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) spokesperson Phaladi Shuping said: "Dladla had information that his wife was cheating on him, and she was, together with her boyfriend, plotting to kill him."
