Friday's weather: Partly cloudy and warm across the country for start of Easter weekend

Partly cloudy conditions and warm to hot temperatures are expected for the start of the Easter weekend, according to the South African Weather Service.  

The weather in your region

Gauteng will be partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers.

The expected UVB sunburn index is high.

Cloudy conditions are forecast in the east of Mpumalanga with morning fog patches and drizzle along the escarpment. 

Otherwise, partly cloudy and warm temperatures are expected with isolated showers and thundershowers, except in the extreme north-east. 

It will be cool in places on the eastern Highveld and along the escarpment.

Limpopo can also expect cloudy conditions in the east at first, otherwise it will be partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers over the central and western Bushveld and extreme south.

Fine temperatures are forecast in the west of the North West until late morning, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot conditions are expected, with isolated showers and thundershowers in the extreme east.

The Free State is expected to have cloudy conditions with morning fog patches in the east, otherwise it will fine and warm.

It will become partly cloudy and warm, with afternoon isolated showers and thundershowers in the east.

Morning fog along the coastal areas is forecast for the Northern Cape, otherwise it will be fine with warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be a light to moderate south-easterly, becoming light and variable in the north from the evening.

The Western Cape can expect morning fog patches over the western interior, where it will become fine. Otherwise, partly cloudy and warm to hot temperatures are forecast.

It will be cloudy and cool along the south coast and adjacent interior where light rain is expected.

The wind along the coast will be a moderate to fresh south-easterly to southerly, becoming light and variable in the north from the evening.

The expected UVB sunburn index is very high.

Cloudy to partly cloudy conditions are expected in the western half of the Eastern Cape with warm temperatures and rain in places south of Somerset East.

The wind along the coast will be a light to moderate southerly to south-westerly, becoming south-easterly to easterly in the afternoon.

The eastern half of the province will be cloudy to partly cloudy with warm temperatures and isolated rain in places south of the escarpment.

The wind along the coast will be a light to moderate south-westerly becoming south-easterly, and then easterly to north-easterly in the afternoon.

KwaZulu-Natal will have morning fog patches over the interior, otherwise it will be cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers.

The wind along the coast will be a light to moderate southerly to south-westerly, becoming easterly to south-easterly from the afternoon.

The expected UVB sunburn index is moderate.
