The Presidency has accused Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis of politicking after his latest call for a clear deadline for the delayed national rail devolution strategy to be implemented.

On Thursday, Hill-Lewis made yet another plea for President Cyril Ramaphosa to announce a deadline, with under two months to go until the end of the president's term of office.

The City has been pushing to take over the management of its railway services for some time.
