Two months after EFF regional chairperson in Nelson Mandela Bay, Khanya Ngqisha instituted legal proceedings against a fellow politician for defamation, he has argued why he believes GOOD Party councillor Lawrence Troon should fork out R1.2 million for the harm caused.
Taking the stand in the civil division of the Gqeberha Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, Ngqisha, who is also the portfolio head of the Infrastructure and Engineering Directorate and party leader in the metro, told the court how Troon's alleged defamatory remarks could lead to him losing his income.
"It has affected me negatively in so many ways. I have had to explain myself to my organisation as these remarks are now going around as fact. My eldest daughter is in Grade 9, and this matter is being publicised," he said.
