Diepsloot community forum chairperson Loyiso Toyiya, who was released on bail after spending six days in police custody, claims he was arrested over calls for President Cyril Ramaphosa to visit the crime-ridden area.
He, together with his deputy Lefa Nkala and resident Jack Hlongwane, were released on R500 bail by the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
The three face charges of infringement of the Traffic Act, damage to essential infrastructure, intimidation, malicious damage to property and public violence.
