A Strand man was convicted of throttling his girlfriend to death, then cutting out parts of her body with a jagged bottleneck, in a judgment handed down in the Western Cape High Court on Wednesday.
Acting Judge Michelle Adams ruled that Siyabonga Mbotyi's attack on his partner, Nandipha Mthimkhulu, on 25 October 2019 at their shack in Lwandle was premeditated, not a spur-of-the-moment act of rage.
