Two people have been detained and Western Cape police are on the hunt for a third in connection with a shooting in which an on-duty Kensington police station constable was wounded.
Police spokesperson Colonel Andrè Traut said the constable and his colleague approached the three people on the corner of Lugmag Avenue and Drommedaris Road in Ysterplaat for questioning shortly after midnight on Monday.
One of them fled on foot and in the process, fired shots in the direction of the police officers, wounding the 34-year-old constable.
