Google.
  • Google Lens has been around for years, but the AI tool continues to advance to provide the best results for users.
  • Among its many benefits, it can also help you identify skin conditions such as rashes, bumps, and more, and it helps with homework too.
  • Other cool features include finding out where to find items such as clothes and identifying nearby restaurants to try.

Google Lens is an artificial intelligence (AI) tool that allows you to search for things you see, and gives you details about what they are or where to find them - it even identifies skin conditions for you.

The AI feature uses a set of vision-based computing capabilities that analyse any object you are looking at and uses the information to identify similar objects on the internet.

It can also translate texts written in a different language, identify street signs, plants, animals, discover products, solve maths problems, and even identify skin conditions to which it may also suggest remedies.

Skin conditions

Sometimes, using description and words alone can be challenging when figuring out certain skin conditions you are dealing with.

With Google Lens, you just need a camera to figure everything out.

The feature allows you to take a photo of the rash, mole or skin injury on the app and presents results of similar skin conditions for the user to choose from.

You can get an array of visual matches to choose from through the image search alone.

In terms of the human body, Google Lens can also help in instances where you struggle to properly articulate any other concern you may have observed, including a line on your nail, discoloration on a certain body part, a strange bump on the lip, or anywhere on the face and even patches due to hair loss.

We used the feature to identify some spots on my face which developed during my pregnancy.

The search results included melanocytic nevus (non-cancerous condition of pigment-producing skill cells), acne, skin tags, and more. The first and last results mentioned matched the photo I attached much better.

Homework

Another cool feature is that Google Lens has the ability to help pupils with homework - whether it is an algebraic equation, formulas you do not understand, or trigonometry problems.

It also helps with school subjects, including history, science, and others. To get help with your school work, click on the "Homework" tab, take a photo and then explore the different results presented on your screen.

"The homework help feature also enables you to tackle questions in multiple languages, and you can set your preferred language for search results," said Google.

Other uses for Google Lens include discovering a delicious meal you stumbled upon on social media.

You can upload an image of the dish to find out what it is called, the ingredients used to make it, and where to enjoy the meal at a restaurant nearby.

Wondering where your favourite influencer's dress is from, but they are cagey with information?

Google can take care of that for you with results of the clothing item such as where it is from, the item's name, how much it retails for, and more, depending on what you want to find out exactly.
