With the hotel industry gradually moving toward pre-pandemic normality, some hotels have shown more resilience than others.
According to Brand Finance Hotels 50 2023 report, Hilton Hotel topped the list of the top 50 hotel brands in value worldwide.
The American hotel brand retained its number-one title even after it experienced a slight slowdown in its growth momentum compared to 2022. Its brand value dropped 2% to $11.7 billion, which is almost double that of the second-valued hotel brand, Hyatt.
The report said that although the hotel industry is picking up and returning to pre-pandemic levels, it is still recovering rather slowly from the long-lasting effects of the pandemic. This is evidenced by the fact that 27 out of 50 hotel brands still remain below their pre-pandemic values.
Hilton also dropped two ranks in brand strength to 5th place this year, but still retained its AAA rating.
"With an unwavering focus on guest satisfaction, Hilton has not only recovered but has emerged stronger in several aspects, solidifying its position as a leading global brand," said Henry Farr, associate director at Brand Finance.
"Through innovative strategies and a dedication to shifting consumer needs, it has retained its title as the world’s most valuable hotel brand."
