Cape Town commuters were left stranded after taxi associations across the Cape Peninsula announced they would embark on a mass stayaway action amid violent clashes with authorities. The standoff in question occurred when law enforcement authorities conducted an impounding operation near the Cape Town station deck taxi rank.
