Former South African MP Andrew Feinstein is due to stand for a seat in the UK Parliament in an apparent bid to make life difficult for the leader of the opposition Labour Party, Keir Starmer.
Feinstein is due to be an independent candidate in the Holborn and St Pancras constituency in London, but as a declared proxy of a faction within Keir's party. That will see him backed by a war chest of, so far, more than R500 000, and by a group of activists from across the UK.
Feinstein has no real prospect of winning as Starmer has strong historic support in his constituency and wields vastly greater resources.
