With rumours suggesting Teboho Mokoena could potentially make his way to Al Ahly at the end of the season, an insider at the Egyptian giants has reportedly set the record straight on the mooted move.

Since his sterling performances at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with Bafana Bafana, which saw him named in the Team of the Tournament, the 27-year-old has garnered a lot of interest in his services.
One suitor speculated to be keen on him are Mamelodi Sundowns' continental rivals Al Ahly.
The Egyptian giants are believed to be big fans of Mokoena, and are said to have placed him on a list of targets to acquire when the transfer window reopens later this year.

While the record African champions may be admirers of the Bethlehem native, though, Sundowns and the Club of the Century have not even begun negotiations for the South African star.
That is according to One3 News, who claim, via an Ahly source, that talks regarding the player's potential move to the Egyptian capital have not yet taken place and that rumours of a deal being close to completion are wide of the mark.

Mali and Ahly star Aliou Dieng, meanwhile, is believed to be garnering interest from the Middle East, with clubs in Qatar and Saudi Arabia said to be keen on his services. It is claimed that it is with funds acquired from that sale that could perhaps help the north African side mount a serious push to land Mokoena's signature.
