The domestic 4-day Series scene remains close to Vernon Philander's heart despite the proliferation of white-ball cricket that's seemingly swallowed the cricketing world.

Where last month's SA20 final between the Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Durban's Super Giants was played in front of a full house at Newlands, the ongoing Four-Day Series final between Western Province and the Lions is being played in front of a handful of fans and staff at the Wanderers.
