How a 93-year-old woman became Instagram’s new 'It' girl

accreditation

Yes, anyone can be famous on social media. It's never too late (or too early for that matter).

Chinami Mori has made her 93-year-old grandmother, Emiko, the face of her colourful clothing range. Mori handmakes a range of clothing that is constructed with a Japanese weaving technique known as Saori. This allows her to use striking colours and mixed yarn to assemble unique pieces.

Her grandmother is her muse, as she says that Emiko is her most favourite person in the world. Emiko and her granddaughter are very popular on Instagram, as her account has over 14.9K followers. Emiko spends almost every day with her granddaughter at her workshop and models all of her latest designs.

According to the Daily Mail, she only started modelling for her granddaughter at the age of 92. She has only had positive feedback from her Instagram fans since.

This is so cute and it’s amazing to see two generations come together for the love of weaving.
