Product Review: Dr Miracle Hair products

I don’t know about you, but finding the right type of relaxer for my hair is beyond a hassle.

I’ve been relaxing my hair since I was about 8 years-old and apart from the natural hair phase that hit me in my teens, finding a good relaxer for my hair has been tiresome.

I’ve skipped from one brand to the next and was still left unsatisfied with the results.

If you relax your hair often then you will know that the number one thing that us women with ethnic hair look for in a relaxer is something that doesn’t burn, and of course the results must be good enough for you to not have to worry about styling.

I recently came across Dr Miracle hair products and while I never got to try any of them (I had my doubts for obvious reasons),  I was always wondering what this “Feel it” formula is that makes it so different from other relaxers.

Well, I finally had the opportunity to put Dr Miracle products to the test when we were sent a box filled with some of their hair maintenance products.

My box consisted of: Regular No-Lye relaxer box set, Leave in conditioner, Hot Gro hair and scalp treatment and Oil sheen spray for styling.

Regular No-Lye Relaxer

The relaxer comes in a great box set which includes the Dr Miracle shampoo, conditioner and relaxer.

The instructions were easy to follow with clear indications of how long the relaxer should stay in your hair- according to your hair type.

This was one of the easiest relaxing processes that I’ve been through, and trust me I’ve had my fair share of relaxing.

And unlike most relaxers it doesn’t give you a burning sensation before you’re even done with stretch combing your hair.

This one stayed on for long and I honestly didn’t even feel the slightest tingle which is usually indicates a burning scalp.

It’s an overall great relaxer (heaven sent if you ask me), not harsh on your scalp and doesn’t have that bad hair chemical smell.

Bonus: Not only does the relaxer conveniently come with great rinsing and conditioning products, but it also includes a hair conditioning treatment that helps you maintain your relax and repair your hair.

Leave in conditioner

The one thing that stood out about the conditioner was how great it smelt and I could also already the feel the sensation of the “feel it” formula almost immediately.

It’s like a massaging feeling that literally makes you feel like your scalp is breathing.

The awesome thing about it though is that it can be applied to the hair and scalp daily to rejuvenate dry and worn out hair.

Hot Gro hair and scalp treatment and Oil Sheen spray

So, immediately after rinsing out the conditioner I based my hair with the Hot Gro scalp treatment to give my roots some moisture.  Once again, it had a sweet smell and the same massaging tingle that repairs, strengthens and grows.

This is great for when you have braids or twists as once you put it under a dryer it smoothes out evenly onto your hair.

The Oil sheen spray is also perfect for adding moisture to plaited and styled hair without ruining it.

My verdict?

Dr Miracle’s products might be a Rand or two more than other hair products, but this is because they are the real deal when it comes to ethnic hair products.

And the packaging doesn’t lie when it says that “it moisturises, conditions and invigorates hair and scalp”.

With the daily use of these products, I’m pretty sure that in a month or two my hair will be perfectly healthy and repaired.

They also surprisingly offer a range of products for the care of natural hair, which I personally haven’t seen other brands offer.

Try it out for yourself and check out the Dr Miracle range here.
