Surprisingly - majority of the responses we received did not oppose to the upcoming weekend but rather felt that general public should move on from the issue – because clearly, ‘Opera(sic) and Rihanna already did.’

Namhla: Firstly, Women's month was last month. At least they had the decency to wait. Secondly, Rihanna and everyone involved have since moved on from this issue.
Chris Brown did his due by apologising and served his punishment for the incident. How about everyone else moves on? What is inappropriate is to continue to condemn a young man, who clearly made a grave mistake three years ago. Are we not a forgiving society? Frankly this CB issue is stale and irrelevant at this moment in time.
Neo: Oh yeah, Chris Brown is now going to pay for all the men abusers out there for the rest of his life! How's about we stop looking back or remaining stagnant on an event that clearly everyone has moved on from and look at how well he is doing. He manned up and got help, which is more than what some men around here are doing. 5fm can do a Chris Brown party whenever they like...it's about the music, not rehashing and condoning past sins!
Namhla: We are not moving on from abuse. We are moving on from an ISSUE. So take your righteous social worker tendencies and go play in traffic. U are being overly sensitive about an issue that has very little to do with u. Even damn Oprah is over it. .. Can we take a moment and focus about ongoing abuse in our own country?
Mandy: 5FM rocks! Please focus on issues like our government allowing men to get away with such acts of abuse! Fathers who do not provide for their children, a government who does nothing to help the elderly and the sickly and does nothing to help single parents who have to work two jobs to support their children.
What has this government done to end abuse for woman or poverty? You have a platform to bring focus to far more important issues; you should make use of this. Let us be grateful that CB continues to bring joy to peoples lives through his music and talent and that he learned something from what he did. How wonderful for him.
Tracy: ?5fm is a radio station which promotes and plays music; if they have to try to be politically correct about everything the airwaves would be quiet. Let's stop being over sensitive and get over ourselves. I agree that there are serious issues in our own country that need to be addressed.
Akhona: I don’t see how Women’s month has anything to do with CB. At least he admitted to what he did and payed for it. please guys, lets move on.

Starr: CB is an Abuser, finish and klaar. Yes he apologised, but He crossed the line and he has earned the title, so I don't think one should sugar-coat it! There are too many women beaten up around the world just for the abuser to say I'm sorry, ask me I know I'm a social worker I see it everyday!
Relebohile: The mere fact that he is well known puts more attention to it. Personally, I've changed my perception about him. I was never really a fan but since the incident, I'm not a fan at all.
Lisa: A lot of people will say just celebrate the man’s talent, regardless of his personal life. But with celebrity culture being what it is, his personal life is such a part of his work life that the two cannot be separated. I don’t think it is less appropriate to
celebrate an abusive man just because it was women’s month, it should be regarded as inappropriate any time of the year.
Miss-Zandy: You may say let's move on but what do u think that the guys who look up to him will say? ‘He hit a gal and it isn’t that big of a deal he is still rocking so it can’t be that bad to abuse women’.
