Just when we thought things were looking up for Joost van der Westhuizen and his ex-wife Amor Vittone (individually of course), the ex-Springbok was diagnosed with a horrible degenerative disease.
And just when South Africa was ready to forgive him too.
While Joost was apparently diagnosed with motor-neuron disease – a disease which is both incurable and fatal – Amor was quoted in the media sounding sceptical about his diagnoses and hinting that Joost is either unwilling or unable to give her clarity about his disease.
She also brought up their financial woes, saying that “I’ve had good reason for a long time to be concerned about Joost’s financial matters.” And that “I’m first and foremost a mother. I am here to protect my children and not get involved in a media battle with Joost.”
In an article with Sarie she explained that she was sorry she said anything about Joost or his disease. Unfortunately the bigwigs at Jacaranda FM have had enough of the ensuing bad publicity and now her contract with the radio station has not been renewed.
Is all the negative attention Amor is getting justified?
