Run for it! 5 celebrities who survived animal attacks

Kim Kardashian
Selfies are the latest trend at the moment, but just because something is cool, doesn't mean it's  safe.

Kim figured this out during her trip to Thailand when she tried to take a selfie with an elephant.

According to Gossip Cop, the baby elephant wasn't impressed with what the reality star was trying to do, and raised its trunk to scare Kim away.

Kris Jenner, Kim's mom, posted the picture on Instagram with the caption: "Ahahahaha @Kimkardashian #scaredycat #hesjustababykim.

The loud and often crass reality TV Chef got a taste of his own medicine when, during an episode screening in Iceland, a puffin took a bite out of his nose.

According to The Telegraph, the puffin was trying to break free after Gordon had trapped it in a net. Unfortunately, for the puffin, the bite wasn't enough to stop Gordon from killing it, and then serving it in his barbecued puffin with cucumber salad dish.

Shakira's attack happened right here in Mzansi. The New York Postreports that the sultry singer was attacked by a sea lion while she was on holiday in Cape Town. She wanted to get a closer look at the group of mammals when one of them jumped out the water and began its attack.

Although Shakira describes the attack as very scary, she only sustained minor injuries to her hand and legs.

Getting too close to a wild animal is never a good idea.

The socialite was assaulted by one of her closest confidants - her pet monkey, Baby Luv. Paris and Baby Luv were playing outside when, according to TMZ, the monkey went bananas on her and started viciously scratching  at her face.

The wounds were superficial and despite being told to put the monkey down, Paris opted to keep her pet.

A swim in the ocean can be so refreshing until a shark sneaks up on you thinking your foot would taste so good with some side seaweed.

Vh1 reports that, during a trip to the coast of Mexico, Ryan thought it would be a grand idea to take a swim the Pacific Ocean. The swim quickly turned into a shocking encounter when a sand shark bit his toe.

Luckily for Ryan, the shark was relatively small, and didn’t seem that interested anyway. Maybe he didn’t taste so nice? He got away with a bite mark on his foot, and a small shark tooth as a souvenir.
