Colbie Caillat goes barefaced for her latest music video and it’s awesome

Tired of ridiculous beauty standards forcing women to constantly apply everything from make-up to Photoshop just so that people will like you? So is Colbie Caillat.

According to Sunny Skyz, pop singer Colbie was sick of feeling pressure to change her image, both physically and musically, into something she's not.

Frustrated but unwilling to give in to intimidation, she decided to write a song about it, and we're so glad she did. Some lyrics from the song:

Put your make-up on
Get your nails done
Curl your hair
Run the extra mile
Keep it slim so they like you, do they like you?

Get your sexy on
Don't be shy, girl
Take it off
This is what you want, to belong, so they like you
Do you like you?

The video features many women of all different body types and ages, including Colbie herself. All are wearing make-up to start with, but as the song progresses the make-up is removed.

Photoshop has created a culture so dependent on it, South Park even dedicated an episode to how much it's negatively affecting women and girls. That's why it's so great to see initiatives like this one, and Vanessa Hudgens' Photoshop-less ad campaign.

It's no wonder Colbie, as a celebrity, has been feeling intense pressure to fake so much. It makes us wonder how many other celebrities give in to this pressure.

Altogether, the video is great, but we're bothered by one small thing. Is it just us, or does Colbie look like she's still wearing lip gloss and maybe even a bit of blusher while she's supposed to have no make-up on?

Watch the song below. Our favourite moment is at 1:24.
