DJ Khaled wants everyone in the world, including the Your Love singer, to know how he feels. He might as well be shouting it off rooftops. “Nicki Minaj, I’m at MTV. I wanna be honest with you. I love you. I like you. I want you. I want you to be mine,” starts the oddly sweet video message he did on MTV.
DJ Khaled, who later said he was completely serious about his proposal, seems to be suffering from a very serious illness. It’s called success. Yes, you read that right. Khaled says to Nicki: “We got the same symptoms. We’re both suffering from success.”
Now, that’s one pick-up line I haven’t heard.
He goes on to say that he understands how busy she is with her music career, which is why he “feels like you need a man like me in your life. That’s gonna take care of you, and respect you.”
And, as if that wasn’t enough, at the end of the video he pulls out a diamond engagement ring, rumoured to be worth almost R5 million and presents it to the camera.
It might be an odd way to propose to someone, but we think it’s sweet. And he does seem rather genuine.
