  • Actress Salma Hayek took to her Instagram TV to share with fans and followers how she likes to ‘spice up’ her morning ‘OJ.’
  • Apart from oranges, the Frida actress also adds turmeric, black pepper, and sea buckthorn to her anti-inflammatory concoction.
  • The video racked up a whopping 1.4 million views.
  • At 54 years old, the Mexican-American actress is positively glowing.

According to Salma, to take your morning orange juice to the next level and reap its beauty benefits, all you must do is juice peeled oranges – then add turmeric, a little bit of black pepper, and sea buckthorn puree.

According to Salma, the oranges work to boost vitamin C levels, while the turmeric boasts anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

“For your body to absorb faster all the benefits of the turmeric, you put a little bit of black pepper. And it just makes it a lot more healthier,” says the actress.

The combination of the three ingredients helps boost all the nutrients and beauty benefits of the juice, she says.

The secret ingredient

“Now, if you want it to make you more beautiful, then here is another tip,” says Salma.

Salma’s ‘secret’ ingredient is the sea buckthorn, a berry-like shrub that is said to help treat skin conditions, swelling, inflammation, and more. The medicinal plant is also used in cosmetics and anti-aging products according to WebMD.

According to the actress, the plant is rich in omega seven, which she claims helps improve the skin, hair, and nails.

Moreover, the juice helps your body produce more collagen, she says.

“So you just add a bit of beauty into your morning,” says Salma while pouring herself a glass of the juice.

However, be warned, the juice does not taste all that great.

“It’s not bad, but it’s a little bit too sour. So again, a little bit goes a long way,” she says.
