Women’s History Month reminded us how we can all be agents of change and work towards making the world a better place. It also gave us an opportunity to celebrate the contributions of extraordinary women.

According to National Women’s History Alliance, this year’s theme is “visionary women: champions of peace and nonviolence.”

And in the same spirit of women empowerment, American costume designer Ruth Carter proposed a fun challenge called #WomenDancingTogether for the remainder of Women’s History Month, reports USA Today.

She says the aim of the challenge is to unite and encourage women to support each other. She urged other celebrities to join in the fun by dancing and singing to female empowerment songs, while spreading love to all women.

The award-winning Black Panther costume designer kicked off the challenge by dancing to her rendition of Beyonce’s 'Who Run the World (girls).'

"Ladies! Let’s have some fun for the rest of #WomensHistoryMonth and show the world when women unite anything is possible," she says in the clip.

Actress Halle Berry joyfully accepted the challenge, showing off her epic dance moves to Destiny's Child's Survivor, while sending a shout-out to fellow warriors and extraordinary women pushing boundaries.

"Thank you @therealruthecarter for challenging me this #WomensHistoryMonth to dance like I damn well please. This one goes out to the incredible female survivors I have encountered in my life, the women who have the tenacity to live on their own terms," she wrote.

Black Panther star Angela Bassett went all out for the challenge, tagging along her friend actress Tasha Smith. The two looked dapper in fur jackets and sunglasses performing “the glamorous life” by Sheila E.

The star-studded party quickly picked up and Kelly Rowland joined in the fun, playfully dancing to 'Act Up' by City Girls.

"As women, we experience a lot of the same challenges & are more alike than we know. No matter our background, ethnicity, or religion.

"We must move as one. Dance, sing, & fight for our rights together #WomenDanceTogether let’s keep this going and have fun,” she said.

Actress Reese Witherspoon decided to dance to Salt-n-Pepa’s 'Push It', captioning her post, “I’m busting a move for equality, parity, safety and inclusion of all women.”

Actress Tika Sumpter invited her friends to the women empowerment party, captioning the clip: “Let’s drop the notion that women can’t support each other and also win in their own right!.”

"I’m dancing to celebrate all of us ladies for #WomensHistoryMonth because we gotta stick together. Loving this movement," joined in actress and comedienne Mindy Kaling.

Bey's mom Tina Knowles, also accepted the challenge recruiting teenage girls who are part of her mentorship programme Tina's Angels. They dedicated their video to Diana Ross, who celebrated her 75th birthday this week.

"Happy birthday to the queen miss Diana Ross," Tina captioned the video.

This is a complete feel-good movement that reminds us to continue to spread love, stick together as women and let our hair down every now and then.
